"He's always been the problem" - WWE veteran discusses why CM Punk's SmackDown return was different  

Former WWE star Mark Henry recently spoke about CM Punk's return as the fifth member of Team Roman Reigns. The star showed up this past Friday on SmackDown.

Paul Heyman made a stunning revelation this week as he announced that Punk would be the final member of Roman's team at WWE Survivor Series: WarGarmes. The Straight Edge Superstar emerged from the back and helped Roman and his entourage clear the ring of the new Bloodline.

On a recent episode of Busted Open, Henry pointed out that Punk was never slotted in as a savior throughout his career. He detailed that The Best in the World's personality made him outspoken, often creating problems for other wrestlers. The veteran wrestler felt this was a unique angle and he was interested in what happens next.

"It was different last night. It was different because when has Punk ever been the savior? Punk has always been the assassin. He's always been the problem." Henry continued, "Never, never, ever was Punk the solution and the savior. It was so different and it felt different. Tell me I'm lying." [From 1:35 - 2:06]

CM Punk and Paul Heyman have a long history

Over the years, CM Punk and Paul Heyman's paths have often intertwined. Heyman was a huge proponent for Punk when the latter was making his name in WWE during the early days of his career. The Wiseman also worked with Punk during his record 434-day WWE Championship reign.

CM Punk has not been in the ring since Bad Blood where he was part of a brutal Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre. On the following RAW, he announced that he would take some time off to recover from the physical toll of the encounter.

It will be interesting to see if Punk can help Roman Reigns and the rest of his team defeat the new Bloodline at Survivor Series WarGames.
