Huge WWE star will unexpectedly turn on Cody Rhodes after Kevin Owens; it's inevitable, says analyst
Kevin Owens recently turned on the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. A WWE analyst predicted The American Nightmare would soon suffer another betrayal from a top superstar.
After teasing a heel turn for several weeks, The Prizefighter attacked Rhodes in the parking lot after Bad Blood. Last week on SmackDown, Randy Orton tried to play peacemaker between the two. However, he fell victim to an attack from the former Universal Champion. While addressing the storyline on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts claimed Rhodes' feud with Owens is a stepping stone for an inevitable heel turn from The Viper on The American Nightmare.
The 41-year-old stated that Orton will break the Undisputed WWE Champion's heart as he goes after the title:
"Regardless of if the problems Randy has with Kevin Owens are legit or not, this whole Kevin Owens-Cody Rhodes emotional rivalry is all set decoration for the inevitable turn of Cody Rhodes that he does not see coming. Randy Orton is going to break Cody Rhodes' heart on a quest to get that WWE Championship. And he's not gonna have to say anything," he said. [27:24 - 27:56]
Ex-WWE star suggests a Triple Threat Match at Survivor Series
While discussing the same storyline on the Rebooked podcast, wrestling veteran Matthew Rehwoldt (fka Aiden English) suggested Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton could square off in a Triple Threat Match.
The former superstar claimed the match was bound to happen, stating that it could take place at Survivor Series next month:
"I think the common logic has this going toward a Triple Threat. My gut says Triple Threat at Survivor Series. Coud you get it further? But that's the next big event. You could maybe get to the Rumble. Maybe you do a singles match and then... But this is a three-way that's bound to happen. That is a Triple Threat wrestling match that is bound to happen. Where that is though I think is up for a little debate," he said.
Rhodes will go head-to-head against the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at Crown Jewel. Sam Roberts previously predicted that Owens would interfere to cost The American Nightmare the match. It would be interesting to see if his prediction would come true.
