WWE Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green defended her title against Michin to open the in-ring action on SmackDown. However, veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter wasn't too impressed by the championship showdown.
Chelsea Green became the inaugural Women's US Champion at Saturday Night's Main Event by beating Michin in the finals of the title tournament. Their storyline has continued in recent weeks, with the challenger getting the better of Chelsea and Piper Niven last week thanks to a kendo stick.
The warring rivals finally had their rematch this week on SmackDown, which was also the first time Green put the title on the line on TV. Chelsea picked up the win with the help of Niven and according to Bill Apter, the bout didn't grab his complete attention. Apter noted that Chelsea and Michin's match suffered from timing issues and expected smoother performances from the WWE Superstars.
The legendary wrestling journalist revealed his criticism about the match below:
"I think it was okay. There was nothing special. It was a lower-level match. For some reason, it didn't grab me. I like the Chelsea Green character, but I don't know; it just didn't... It was okay. You talked about timing in one of the other matches with LA Knight, and umm, Yeah! I think the timing was a bit off in this match as well." [From 23:oo to 23:39]

Chelsea Green might have retained her championship in her first in-ring outing with the belt but she'd certainly also want to have better matches moving forward to make her reign a potentially memorable one for the history books.
