Paul Heyman returned last night on SmackDown to introduce CM Punk as The OG Bloodline's fifth member for WWE Survivor Series: WarGames. WWE analyst Sam Roberts suggested that The Wiseman may have made a promise or two to convince The Best in the World to join The OTC's team.
Before returning last night on SmackDown, The Wiseman was last seen on television in June when Solo Sikoa's Bloodline attacked him and put him through the announce table. However, he did not return alone. Heyman brought his former client CM Punk with him after apparently convincing him to join The OG Bloodline in their WarGames Match against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline at the upcoming premium live event.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts discussed what may have convinced The Best in the World to join forces with The Original Tribal Chief and his associates. He did not rule out the possibility that Heyman may have promised him a title shot or even his services:
"I've seen some responses going, 'What do you think Paul Heyman promised CM Punk?' And maybe something. Maybe if Roman Reigns were to win back the title, CM Punk gets the first shot. That's something we can find out later. Maybe that was the promise that Paul Heyman made to CM Punk. It could be a multitude of things. Maybe he promised his services to CM Punk whenever CM Punk, could be," he said.
The 41-year-old WWE analyst pointed out that Heyman may have simply asked Punk to do him a favor:
"Or it could be that Paul Heyman just called his original protege on his other phone, because the Roman phone was disconnected, and said, 'Hey, I need you to do something for me,' and that's all it took. Possible. All of it is possible," he said. [From 15:17 to 16:00]

As he discussed the alliance between CM Punk and Roman Reigns on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts claimed it could lead to a massive square-off between the two WWE Superstars after Survivor Series: WarGames.
Reigns and Punk last went head-to-head a decade ago in a match that The Original Tribal Chief won:
"The idea that we're gonna see Roman Reigns and CM Punk on the same team, which only plants seeds for a future match between Roman Reigns and CM Punk, is so, like, the minute you see those guys together and realize that it's all right there in front of you. You've got two years of stories right there in front of us," he said. [From 20:54 to 21:16]
It would be interesting to see what direction Punk would go after teaming up with The OG Bloodline at Survivor Series.
