The New Day teased a new nickname following this week's episode of WWE RAW. The faction turned heel on the December 2, 2024, edition of the red brand and refused Big E's offer to be their manager.
WWE shared a video of The New Day revealing their goals for this year. Woods and Kingston stated that they wanted to become World Tag Team Champions, but also noted that they wanted to become singles champions as well. You can check out the faction's comments in the video below.
"And that day don't stop, that sun don't set until your boys say it does. May as well call us The Fat Ladies, but we ain't singing. New Day rocks," said Xavier Woods. [From 01:24 - 01:35]
Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have been loudly booed by the WWE Universe ever since they decided to betray Big E on RAW last month. Rey Mysterio recently kicked the faction out of the locker room as well.
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently took WWE to task for having The New Day do the same thing as Dominik Mysterio.
Dirty Dom is one of the most despised stars on the roster and is booed whenever he attempts to speak on television. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are now getting the Dominik Mysterio treatment from the crowd, and Vince Russo is not a fan.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW show, the veteran criticized the company for having the faction do the same thing as Mysterio. Russo noted that Xavier Woods was waiting for the crowd to boo him this past Monday night on the red brand.
"This show tonight, like, right off the bat, Chris, I'm watching the show and I'm like, 'Are we really going to do the Dominik Mysterio thing with New Day now?' Like, are you freaking kidding me! It was pathetic with Dominik, now you're going to do the same exact thing with Creed, he is doing the whole thing that he is waiting for them." [43:14 - 43:34]

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods confronted Rey Mysterio backstage earlier this week on WWE RAW and a tag team match was made for down the line. It will be interesting to see if Woods and Kingston can become champions once again in 2025.
