The Rock will square off with massive WWE star, not Cody Rhodes, at WrestleMania 41, says veteran

The Rock is rumored to face Cody Rhodes in a one-on-one match at WWE WrestleMania 41. However, a wrestling veteran recently said that The Final Boss could square off with another massive superstar, not The American Nightmare. After returning to WWE TV earlier this year, The Rock turned heel and joined the OG Bloodline. He feuded with Rhodes heading into WrestleMania 40.

The Final Boss even pinned The American Nightmare to earn a victory in a tag team match (alongside Roman Reigns) against Cody and Seth Rollins on Night One of The Show of Shows. On the following edition of RAW, the 52-year-old legend confronted the Undisputed WWE Champion, promising to go after the 39-year-old upon his comeback from hiatus.

While many believe The Rock may return to lock horns with Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, wrestling veteran Magnum T.A. claimed on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast that The Final Boss could go head-to-head with Roman Reigns in Las Vegas. He pointed out that a match against the Original Tribal Chief was initially what The People's Champion wanted when the Hollywood star returned earlier this year.

"If Rock was there, it's the match that he wanted to do originally, which was him and Roman. I don't know that Cody will still be the champion by WrestleMania," he said. [32:46-32:57]

Roman Reigns recently addressed potentially facing The Rock in WWE

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Roman Reigns commented on potentially locking horns with The Rock. He did not rule out the possibility of having the match.

However, he pointed out that setting up the dream encounter would be up to fans, stating that if the WWE Universe wanted to see it and The Final Boss was willing to do it, it could be planned.

"If that's what the people want and The People's Champ is down [sic], I'm sure we can make something happen," he said.

The Rock last appeared at Bad Blood 2024, where he made a cryptic gesture towards Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and Jimmy Uso. It will be interesting to see if The Great One shows up at Survivor Series: WarGames.
