The Usos ruled WWE's tag team division for a long time before they went their separate ways. Recently, Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley stated his belief that a feud with Jimmy and Jey Uso can save The New Day as a tag team.
A few years ago, The New Day and The Usos had one of the best tag team rivalries in the Stamford-based promotion's history, where they exchanged the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on different occasions. However, it's been over two years, and the two teams haven't had a match in a while.
Speaking on Busted Open, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray expressed that a feud with The Usos could be the final act for The New Day as the tag team has lost steam. The veteran stated if the team decides to remain intact, a high-profile feud with Jimmy and Jey Uso is the only thing left on their list that would justify their partnership.
"Listen, as history has taught us, unless there are a couple of teams that truly have chemistry, it's the money-drawing potential. The New Day, and The Usos had it. If you're telling me that we're getting a happy ending from The New Day because they're going to go up against The Usos, if that's going to happen, I'll be like, 'Okay, we're going to visit a tag team rivalry. Other than that, I don't know why I should really be into The New Day," Dudley said. (From 30:20 onwards)
Last month, The Usos reunited for the first time in over a year as the duo agreed to takedown Solo Sikoa, his army of Tongans and Jacob Fatu. However, the same cannot be said about The New Day.
Earlier this year, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods began to argue, and the two started working without any coordination or teamwork. The cracks developed further when Kingston made his own call over Woods on WWE RAW.
Earlier this month, the decorated team lost a tag team match to The War Raiders on the red brand. Later, the two were seen bickering and arguing in the back when The Usos appeared.
Instead of listening to reasoning, Xavier Woods went off on Jey and Jimmy Uso and eventually left the argument with Kofi Kingston by walking away. It'll be interesting to see what's next for the duo in WWE.
