WWE added a surprising stipulation to a highly-anticipated upcoming women's title match. RAW will be debuting on Netflix on January 6, 2025.
Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan have been in a personal rivalry for months on the red brand. Ripley used to be in a storyline relationship with The Judgment Day's Domink Mysterio, but he betrayed her to help the 30-year-old retain the Women's World Championship earlier this year at SummerSlam.
Ripley will be challenging for the title on RAW's Netflix premiere next month. On this week's episode of WWE Main Event, it was announced that the Women's World Championship match between Ripley and Morgan was now a Last Woman Standing Match.
Liv Morgan successfully defended her title against Damage CTRL's IYO SKY earlier this month at Saturday Night's Main Event. Ripley also challenged for the title at WWE Bad Blood in October, but the match ended via disqualification after Raquel Rodriguez interfered.
Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently predicted that Rhea Ripley would lose her Women's World Championship match against Liv Morgan next month when RAW debuts on Netflix.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo, the former WWE writer noted that Rhea Ripley was very popular among wrestling fans. Russo stated that Ripley doesn't need the Women's World Championship at the moment and that the company should keep the title on Morgan.
"I think you know, Rhea Ripley is super over with the people. She don't need the belt, you know. Liv does. Liv, that belt and that title really helps Liv. Ripley will remain over whether or not she wins the title. She doesn't need the title. They just need to protect her in this match. But I think, I mean, they should keep the title on Liv," he said. Liv Morgan captured the title from Becky Lynch at King and Queen of the Ring earlier this year. Ripley held the Women's World Championship for 380 days before having to relinquish it due to injury following WrestleMania XL. It will be interesting to see if The Eradicator can win the title once again on RAW's Netflix premiere on January 6.
