Former WWE head writer Vince Russo discussed Shinsuke Nakamura's recent return to the company. The star recently showed up on SmackDown and attacked LA Knight.
Last week on SmackDown, Knight had a singles match against Santos Escobar. Nakamura started the mind games during the matchup, with a video package aimed at distracting the US Champion. The Megastar however picked up the win despite the shenigans. However, he didn't get a chance to celebrate as Shinsuke blindsided him.
On the latest episode of Writing with Russo, the wrestling veteran felt WWE has nowhere to go with the star. He felt the creative team had no plans for Shinsuke Nakamura and put him in a makeshift feud with Knight. Russo didn't know how the writing team would get out of this feud without making either star look weak.
"Bro, did you see who attacked LA Knight after his match on SmackDown? Nakamura. I don't get these guys. I don't understand this booking." He added, "I don't know. Their booking is just... It's just that there's no plan. IT's the wrestling industry as a whole. There's just no plans anymore." [From 11:43 onwards]
This week on SmackDown, Nakamura defeated Andrade in a singles encounter with a vicious Kinshasa strike. After the match, LA Knight rushed to the ring for retribution but Shinsuke blinded the champ with his sinister mist.
It will be interesting to see if Shinsuke Nakamura can take down Knight at Survivor Series and reclaim the United States Championship.
