WWE is heading to Canada for Survivor Series: WarGames, and a Hall of Famer has teased going after a prestigious title outside of the Stamford-based promotion. Today, John Bradshaw Layfield (JBL) made a bold statement and teased potentially winning the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship.

NWA was once one of the most popular promotions in the wrestling industry, where many Hall of Famers made a name for themselves. Layfield briefly wrestled for NWA Dallas between January and May 1995 and won the NWA North American Title during his time with the promotion.

Today, the 57-year-old star teased a return to the ring with a message. The former WWE Champion stated he always wanted to be the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion and could still do it if he wanted to with a clothesline. It'll be interesting to see if Layfield would come out of retirement to challenge for the title.

"I always wanted to be @nwa champion. Iā€™m still just one clothesline away," Layfield wrote.

In 2004, JBL won his first and only world title in the Stamford-based promotion. He lost the title to John Cena at WrestleMania 21 after holding it for 280 days. It'll be interesting to see if the WWE Hall of Famer wins another world title in the coming months.

WWE Hall of Famer JBL claims employee was fired after scary Undertaker incident

John Bradshaw Layfield, aka JBL, had a successful career as a singles star on SmackDown when he won the WWE Championship. In the coming years, the veteran won more titles before he lost his Intercontinental Championship to Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 25 and quit the company.

During his time with the Stamford-based promotion, Layfield was a good friend of The Undertaker. Speaking on Something to Wrestle, JBL said the crew member responsible for pyrotechnics was immediately fired from WWE after The Undertaker suffered first and second-degree burns during his entrance.

"It could have killed him. It's insane how stupid, stupid this was. You can't make that mistake. You can't put live pyro on the one place that anybody, much less your star of the company, is gonna be. I mean, this guy, what a freaking bozo. So, it happened. Needless to say, when 'Taker came back, that guy had been fired already and never was seen again." [1:26:52 ā€“ 1:27:15]

The incident took place in 2010 when The Undertaker was making his entrance at the Elimination Chamber event with the World Heavyweight Championship. Luckily, the veteran was able to continue the match after dousing himself with water while waiting in the pod.
