Drew McIntyre has been absent since the Bad Blood Premium Live Event in October, where he lost to CM Punk at the PLE in a Hell in a Cell match. During the bout, The Scotsman was busted open and later required 16 staples to close a cut on his head. He has not been featured on weekly television ever since. However, there is a significant probability that McIntyre could return at Survivor Series: WarGames and go after Bron Breakker's Intercontinental Championship. Breakker is set to defend the IC Title against Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser this Saturday in Vancouver, Canada.
CM Punk, who also went on a hiatus following the Hell in a Cell match, returned last Friday on SmackDown and will be part of the Men's WarGames match. While Triple H booked Punk as the fifth member of OG Bloodline at Survivor Series: WarGames, he might have kept Drew McIntyre as the surprise of the night for Bron Breakker's Intercontinental Title.
The Scottish Warrior needs a big win to gain momentum ahead of 2025, so the company could add him to the IC Title match and make it a Fatal Four Way match. WWE has pulled this move multiple times over the years, where stars get added to major matches at the very last moment.
So if McIntyre enters the match, there is a huge possibility that he might win the title. The Scotsman won the title in 2009, when he defeated former WWE Superstar John Morrison at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Speaking on his The Steve Richards Show, the former Right to Censor member pointed out that Drew McIntyre had a very scary botch that could have led him to a serious injury at Bad Blood.
The Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre was one of the most brutal bouts of the year. The closing moments of the battle saw McIntyre miss the Claymore Kick and land hard on the edge of steel steps.
Steve Richards mentioned that McIntyre might have planned to land on the steel steps after missing the Claymore Kick on CM Punk, but he landed on the edge of the steel steps, causing a scary botch. However, WWE didn't report any serious injuries to The Scottish Warrior after the match.
