Speaking of veterans, Bill Apter has named his pick for the first-ever WWE Women's Intercontinental Champion. Responding to a fan question on the Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, the veteran journalist said he felt Rhea Ripley would be the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion.
"I see them right now putting the belt on Rhea Ripley," stated Apter. [12:13 onwards]
Explaining his reason for naming Ripley, Apter noted Mami's popularity with the WWE Universe, as well as her proven track record as a main eventer, could potentially translate to the company putting the title on her.
Rhea Ripley isn't a stranger to winning new titles. In 2018, she made history by becoming the inaugural NXT UK Women's Champion. Fans will have to wait to see if she gets involved in the tournament, let alone win it.
