The on-screen developments clearly point towards the long-awaited split of The New Day in the WWE. Peter Rosenberg shared his thoughts on the storyline and felt the members could have a match at Saturday Night's Main Event.
While they've still been successful despite Big E's absence from the ring, the relationship between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods has steadily deteriorated in recent times. As the group prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary in the WWE, fans expect a heel turn from either Kofi Kingston or Xavier Woods on the next episode of RAW.
Peter Rosenberg predicted Big E to be in attendance on the show alongside his long-time partners, Kingston and Woods, who could be involved in a potentially explosive moment. Rosenberg noted that as The New Day match doesn't seem to be scheduled for Survivor Series, a possible clash between Kofi and Xavier could be perfect for the Saturday Night's Main Event card.
The returning event will take place on December 14th and will be headlined by Cody Rhodes defending his title against Kevin Owens. The inaugural WWE Women's United States Champion will also be crowned on the special show and Rosenberg stated that a big match involving New Day members could also be added in the coming weeks:
"By the way, the setup is now so obvious, Big Ettore is going to be there! So, now they have to do something. This has been set up endlessly, you're not doing it at this pay-per-view, which means you are saving it further. Which means, we will get, in my opinion, it's perfect for this. We will get a big New Day explosion match at Saturday Night's Main Event, which is major. That's a great match for that. That's a perfect match for Saturday Night's Main Event, I love that." It isn't the first time WWE has hinted at a New Day breakup, but the vibes seem legitimately serious now. The New Day suffered another loss this past week against Alpha Academy and the defeat was the catalyst for a back-and-forth between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
The duo began arguing in the ring and didn't stop as they walked to the back after a pretty frustrating in-ring display. What followed was a personal exchange between two friends who certainly aren't on the same page any longer.
Kofi claimed he and Big E never let Woods "make the play'' as they doubted his capabilities. Woods retorted by blaming Kofi Kingston for throwing his World Title run away in seconds to Brock Lesnar. The passionate conversation ended with a visibly fuming Kingston walking away as Woods reminded him about next week's 10th-anniversary celebrations.
Considering how it's all going, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods might need Big E back during a special edition of Monday Night RAW.
