Rhea Ripley delivered a message to her real-life husband Buddy Matthews ahead of AEW Full Gear. Ripley and Matthews dated since 2020 while they were still in WWE and got married back in June this year.
Matthews, representing the House of Black, was scheduled for the Full Gear preshow. He faced Dante Martin, Komander, and The Beast Mortos in a Fatal Four-Way match. He got the win after hitting the Curb Stomp on Martin for the pinfall.
Before the bell rang, The Eradicator shared a photo of Matthews wearing his prematch gear after entering the ring. She didn't caption the image but did use a suggestive SpongeBob SquarePants sticker to convey her message.
It was the infamous licking meme, which possibly hinted at what Ripley was thinking about at that moment. Mami has not been afraid to be provocative on her social media, and many fans felt there was nothing wrong with her showing her love and support to her husband.
Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews have been dating since 2020 when they were still both in WWE. The couple stayed together even after Matthews' release in June 2021. He signed with AEW and has been a part of House of Black ever since. They got married in a private ceremony five months ago.
Before their wedding in June, Rhea Ripley appeared on Logan Paul's IMPAULSIVE podcast and was asked about her relationship with Buddy Matthews. Ripley explained that Matthews had no problems with her recent storylines involving Dominik Mysterio.
"At the end of the day, the platform that I'm on, this might make a lot of people mad, but it's obviously higher. I feel like he doesn't get threatened by that and he says he doesn't either, so I'll take his word. I trust him, I believe him. He's very comfortable in what he's doing and who I am. He also loves to help me along the way and help me grow, which is what a relationship should be. If I'm winning, he's winning," Ripley said. [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Ripley reportedly signed a new deal with WWE back in October, which will keep her locked in with the company for years to come. Matthews, on the other hand, also supposedly signed an extension with AEW back in June, as reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
