Triple H has been the driving force behind WWE's creative regime for well over two years now. Throughout his tenure, he has continued to deliver some jaw-dropping moments and pushed several superstars into the spotlight. However, there have often been times when The Game has failed to capitalize on pivotal moments, which resulted in missed opportunities.
One such creative misstep was recently seen on SmackDown when the WWE CCO seemingly dropped the ball with two superstars: Andrade and Carmelo Hayes. Triple H's creative decisions have unfortunately stalled the momentum of both men who had been riding red hot especially following their electrifying rivalry on the blue brand.
There are notably three reasons why and how The Game has missed the mark with both talents, causing their momentum to stagnate.
The Andrade-Hayes feud had been the highlight of SmackDown for the last couple of months. They faced each other in a compelling series of seven matches with both superstars delivering exceptional performances. However, what remained a creative blunder was the fact that neither of them came out as the decisive winner by the end of their matches.
This rivalry sought a clear victor especially with both superstars battling each other for months trying to prove their supremacy. However, the fact that Triple H ended their saga without a proper closure is something that derailed both Andrade and Carmelo Hayes' momentum. The lack of resolution stifled the growth of two of WWE's most promising talents.
Carmelo Hayes and Andrade's rivalry led to them getting a shot at the United States Championship. Both superstars faced LA Knight in a Triple Threat Match at Crown Jewel 2024. However, their title aspirations came to an end with WWE pulling them out of the championship picture immediately after the spectacle.
Moreover, Shinsuke Nakamura's return and attack on Knight has completely sidelined them. The momentum Andrade and Melo had built up for months was brought to an abrupt halt. Withdrawing them from the title picture after just a single opportunity was indeed a huge misstep for the Triple H-led regime especially given the amount of time WWE invested in both superstars.
WWE spends weeks and months building main event superstars and putting them in the spotlight through compelling storylines. However, when it comes to Andrade and Carmelo Hayes, one cannot say so. Despite being involved in a captivating feud with each other on SmackDown, neither of the two superstars has a major program to look forward to.
Their intense and months-long rivalry led to nothing significant on SmackDown as both are still wandering directionless. The feud that once looked promising appears to have gone in vain due to the company's lack of creative plans. This is another huge misstep that played a key role in affecting Andrade and Melo's rise to the top.
