The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is one of the finest heels currently in the Stamford-based company. Several stars have been gunning for him and his title on Monday Night RAW. The Ring General has been a workhorse champion since he captured the gold at SummerSlam 2024.
Gunther is currently in a heated feud against Damian Priest. Both men are booked to lock horns in a rematch for the prestigious title. Priest is aiming to reclaim his title against The Ring General. The duo will clash in a singles match for the World Heavyweight Title at Survivor Series 2024.
Despite a decent reign and possibilities of significant matches still ahead in his reign, Triple H might take the championship off Gunther in the coming months and could crown CM Punk as the new title holder, which might lead to a major WrestleMania match-up.
CM Punk made his much-awaited return to the blue brand in the latest episode and joined forces with OG Bloodline to take on Solo’s heel version of Bloodline in the WarGames match. However, after the Survivor Series Premium Live Event, Punk will soon be back on the red brand. There is a huge possibility that he must have had a deal with Paul Heyman that, in return for being the fifth member, he would help him become the World Heavyweight Champion.
While Punk was feuding with Drew McIntyre, there was a moment where Punk declared that he would go after Gunther and his title before he was pulled back into the storyline against McIntyre.
Punk being champion would ultimately benefit the company as he is a bigger and more experienced superstar. Triple H and the creative team could also finally book the much-awaited feud between Seth Rollins and Punk, which was reportedly planned for WrestleMania 40 before The Best in the World sustained a real-life injury that sidelined him for months.
CM Punk and Seth Rollins’s rivalry is long delayed; they were initially supposed to face each other at WrestleMania 40. However, the Stamford-based company had to change its plans after Punk got injured. Upon his return, he got embroiled in a heated feud against Drew McIntyre, which came to an end at Bad Blood 2024.
Triple H and WWE planted seeds for Rollins vs. Punk during the last appearance of The Best in the World on Monday Night Raw before he went on a hiatus. Both men could start feuding soon after Survivor Series WarGames 2024, which could potentially lead to a match between them at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be interesting to see what Triple H does regarding this much-awaited feud between Seth Rollins and CM Punk.
