Just 24 hours after RAW's premiere on Netflix, WWE officials have NXT: New Year's Evil on their hands. The upcoming show is the black-and-silver brand's first major television special of the calendar year, and it is expected to be an exciting affair. However, could this be the final appearance on NXT for two top superstars?
Yes, that could very well be the case. Why? Because the two superstars happen to be NXT's two top champions, Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez. Both Williams and Perez will defend their respective titles tonight. There is a good chance that New Year's Evil may turn out to be their last night in WWE's developmental brand.
Trick Williams and Roxanne Perez face stiff competition at NXT: New Year's Evil. Williams has to deal with Oba Femi and Eddy Thorpe in a Triple Threat Match. Meanwhile, The Prodigy will go head-to-head with Giulia for the second time. Should they both fail in their endeavors, their time in the black-and-silver brand could be up.
Fortunately, from there, the only way is up. Both superstars have accomplished all they can in NXT, and a call-up to the main roster could be on the horizon. Who knows? They might even make their presence felt at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Then again, at this point, this is nothing more than speculation.
NXT: New Year's Evil has gotten exciting for a whole other reason now. While there is no doubt the two title matches will be huge, WWE fans around the world learned some amazing news last night. After a brief appearance at RAW's premiere on Netflix, The Rock went live on Instagram.
There, he made a huge announcement that got the entire NXT Universe excited. The Final Boss announced that he would make an appearance on this week's Tuesday Night Show. Although it is not yet known what he will do, it is incredible news and is sure to leave an impression on all those in attendance.
Expectations are high for The People's Champ's appearance. But more important is what he will do once he enters the ring. Everyone is curious at this point, but only time will tell how things unfold.
