Manchester United star Marcus Rashford recently dismissed reports suggesting he has been in talks with a sports agency for a move away from Old Trafford. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a potential transfer away from the Red Devils.

The rumors grew further following his exclusion from the squad in their Premier League clash against Manchester City on December 15. The Englishman was also excluded from the Red Devils' squad for the next two league matches and their EFL Cup quarter-final with Tottenham Hotspur.

Just days after his exclusion from the Manchester Derby, Marcus Rashford made a statement about being open to a new challenge. It led to more reports suggesting his potential exit. During a visit to his former primary school, the left winger told journalist Henry Winter (via Sky Sports):

"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps. When I leave it's going to be 'no hard feelings'. If I know that a situation is already bad I'm not going to make it worse."

Meanwhile, Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim explained his decision regarding Rashford as tactical, mentioning that the player needs to improve and earn his place in the squad.

Rashford returned to the squad for United's Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Monday, December 30. He was named on the bench, however, and did not make an appearance in the 2-0 defeat against the Magpies.

The Sun recently claimed that Rashford has been in touch with a sports agency to secure a deal away from Manchester United. The English star shared a story on his Instagram account with a screenshot of the report, denying its implication. He wrote:

"Been a lot of false stories written over past few weeks, but guys this is getting ridiculous – never met with any agency and don’t have any plans to."

Marcus Rashford has registered seven goals and three assists in 27 appearances across competitions for Manchester United this season.

Manchester United boss on decision to recall Marcus Rashford for Newcastle United clash

Ahead of Manchester United's Premier League clash against Newcastle, Ruben Amorim explained his decision to recall Marcus Rashford to the squad. The Portuguese manager mentioned the forward's inclusion as a part of his player rotation and told Sky Sports:

"Selection. And we have a lot of players out. So he's in. Like I say every week, I chose my players, and he was there to be chosen, and, this time, he is here. We just have to do the maximum to win the game. Marcus could be important today."

However, Rashford did not get minutes on the pitch and the match ended in Manchester United's ninth loss in the Premier League this season. The Red Devils are currently 14th in the league table with 22 points. Manchester United are set to face Liverpool next in the league on January 5 at Anfield.
