Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has opened up about the joy of donning the Blues jersey, describing his experience as nothing short of a 'dream come true.' Despite enduring an underwhelming debut earlier in the season, the Ecuador international has hit his stride. He now thrives as a key figure in Chelsea’s impressive campaign under manager Enzo Maresca.

In a candid interview this week, Caicedo shared his heartfelt emotions about playing at Stamford Bridge, underscoring his immense pride and happiness.

Here's what he said (via journalist Fabrizio Romano's X):

"It’s a dream come true. It’s a great feeling. You always prepare for this moment, and now you’re here at Stamford Bridge with your fans, winning games. You’re helping the team, and it’s amazing – sometimes I go home and just smile."

Reflecting on the season so far, Caicedo expressed optimism about the team's progress under Maresca. They are third in the Premier League with 25 points after 13 games.

"This season, so far, we are doing fantastically, but for sure, all the players, the head coach, and the staff want us to do the same for the rest of the season," he added.

Chelsea’s resurgence under Maresca has been nothing short of remarkable. Taking the reins at the start of the season, the manager has steered the Blues toward exceeding expectations, playing a style of football that is both entertaining and effective.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca warns his players ahead of Southampton clash

On Sunday (December 1), Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0 in the Premier League. The three goals scored came from Nicolas Jackson, Enzo Fernandez, and Cole Palmer.

They will next face Southampton on Wednesday (December 4). As the west London side prepare for a crucial Premier League fixture against a bottom-table side, the pressure is on to maintain their momentum and secure three vital points.

Ahead of the game, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca urged his players not to get complacent. Speaking at a press conference, he said (via The Chelsea Chronicle):

“The first thing I said in the dressing room on Sunday after we beat Aston Villa was not congratulations or well done, it was 'prepare for Wednesday.'"

He added:

"This is the worst game for us since we started the season. The toughest game and we need to be ready, otherwise it will be a bad day for us. If you analyze the results, they are there [at the bottom of the table] but in terms of performance, they are very good. They were leading against Liverpool, only lost 1-0 to Manchester City, and they drew in the last game against Brighton."
