Mohamed Salah scored his 100th away goal for Liverpool against Southampton on Sunday, November 24, in the Premier League. The Reds took the lead against the Saints at St. Mary's Stadium thanks to a goal from Dominik Szoboszlai in the 30th minute.
However, the home side was awarded a controversial penalty late in the first half, and Adam Armstrong equalized from the spot. Southampton then went 2-1 ahead 11 minutes after the break through Mateus Fernandes.
However, Salah ensured that the Merseyside club was the happier team at the end of the game. The Egyptian equalized in the 65th minute and then scored the winner - from the spot - in the 83rd.
In doing so, the 32-year-old racked up 100 goals away from Anfield in his career. Salah has scored 12 goals and set up 10 more from 18 games across competitions this season for Liverpool.
The Reds are now eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City after 12 games in the Premier League this season. The Merseysiders won 10 and lost just once - against Nottingham Forest - in the league so far under Arne Slot.
The Dutchman managed to get Liverpool firing on all cylinders since taking charge over the summer as Jurgen Klopp's successor. The Reds have won 16 of their 18 games across competitions this season.
Mohamed Salah has registered 221 goals and 99 assists from 366 games for Liverpool since arriving at the club from AS Roma in 2017. However, the Egyptian's contract with the Reds expires at the end of this season and he hasn't signed a new deal yet.
Salah has been a key ingredient in the Merseyside club's success under Jurgen Klopp. He has won the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup with Liverpool.
The Egyptian also helped the Reds lift the EFL Cup, the UEFA Super Cup as well as the FIFA Club World Cup. The player has retained his importance under Arne Slot, but his contract situation is likely to be a cause for worry.
The Merseyside club is also sweating on the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has entered the final year of his contract. The Englishman is yet to commit his future at Anfield, with Real Madrid reportedly eager to take him to the Santiago Bernabeu next summer.
