Barcelona star Raphinha has opened up about Dani Olmo and Pau Victor's registration issue at the club. The Brazilian winger is hopeful that the situation will be resolved soon.
La Blaugrana are currently third in the LaLiga table, five points behind league leaders Real Madrid, and three points behind second-placed Atletico Madrid (who have played a game less).
Meanwhile, Hansi Flick's side are facing issues off the pitch, with their struggles involving the registration of 2024 signings Olmo and Victor. Olmo's signature was secured from RB Leipzig last summer, while Victor joined from Girona after a loan spell with Barca Atletic.
On New Year's Day, Olmo and Victor were removed from LaLiga's registration list after Barcelona failed to meet certain requirements of the Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.
Their future at the club is now uncertain and to make matters worse, Spain's governing body for football, RFEF, put out a statement in support of LaLiga's decision, denying the Blaugrana's appeal.
Barcelona winger Raphinha has now offered his thoughts on the situation. He said (via Reshad Rahman on X):
“The situation with Olmo and Pau Víctor is complicated, something that no player wants to go through. We don't know if we can count on them. We hope that those in charge can sort this out so that they can play with the team again as soon as possible.”
Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has talked about the dressing room's reaction to Dani Olmo and Pau Victor's registration issue. The Uruguayan defender, who's the club's second captain in their hierarchy, hopes it can be sorted out soon.
Araujo admitted that the squad is worried about the duo's futures, insisting that Olmo and Victor are important players for the club. Speaking to Movistar+, the 25-year-old said:
"We are a little worried because they are two very important players for us. It is a subject that is in bad taste for our teammates, but we hope it can be resolved. As captain I have tried to reassure them."
Meanwhile, Barca boss Hansi Flick gave his two cents on the problem as well. He said:
"To be honest, I wasn't happy with the situation either. The players aren't happy either, but we have to accept that we are professionals. I'm optimistic, but we have to wait for the decision."
La Blaugrana will next face Athletic Club in the Supercopa de Espana semi-finals on Wednesday (January 8) before taking on Getafe in their LaLiga clash on January 18.
