Barcelona trounced their eternal rivals Real Madrid 5-2 in Jeddah to secure the Spanish Super Cup. The Catalan side was head and shoulders above their rivals from the Spanish capital, securing an emphatic win.

Los Blancos opened the scoring in the 5th minute through Kylian Mbappe. Blaugrana responded with intent and raced to a 4-1 lead by halftime thanks to strikes from Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski (p), Raphinha and Alejandro Balde.

Barcelona made it a 5-star attacking display after the break in the 48th minute after Raphinha bagged his brace. The Catalans went down to ten men after Wojciech Szczęsny fouled Mbappe outside the box in the 56th minute. Rodrygo converted the resulting free kick for Real Madrid in the 60th minute.
