Manchester United are prepared to make a move for 18-year-old midfielder Tyler Dibling, who plays for Southampton. According to reports from Fichajes.net, the Saints have placed an asking price of €35 million on the youngster, which the Red Devils are prepared to pay.
United notably sacked Erik ten Hag from his role in late October, with the club hiring Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim as their new head coach. However, the two managers have a rather different style of play, which means the new head coach will need to turn towards the transfer market for suitable players.
The report from Fichajes.net has revealed that the Red Devils have benchmarked approximately €180 million for transfers in January, which will enable them to move for Dibling. The midfielder has been a rather regular part of Southampton's Premier League campaign this season, playing 16 games and scoring one goal.
Aside from the 18-year-old, Manchester United are preparing moves for other players in the transfer market. The club plan to reunite Ruben Amorim with Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, who could cost them approximately €75 million. They are also reportedly working on a move for Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has dropped a verdict about his squad, following their 3-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League at Old Trafford (December 22). The Red Devils have failed to break out of midfield doldrums since his emergence in the dugout, and the head coach has rued their ongoing struggles.
Speaking to the press after the loss in front of the fans at Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim said (via Eurosport):
"If you look at the game, we were not conceding anything before the first goal, we had opportunities. If we manage to score the first goal, then the game should be different. We want to score but we are too nervous. We have to fight this."
He also shared concerns about Manchester United's inability to focus on the match:
"We have to focus on the job and not what you feel in the stadium. It's the only way I know how to focus my players. We have to suffer again, but we will try to win. We will do it until the end."
The Red Devils will return to the Premier League on Boxing Day (December 26) when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, getting three points from that game will not push up from mid-table. Indeed, the 13th-placed outfit will have to string wins together to enter the top half of the league table.
