Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are ready to break the bank for Arsenal target Alexander Isak, according to Fichajes. The Swedish striker has taken his game to the next level since joining Newcastle United in 2022.
Last season, Isak registered 25 goals from 40 games across competitions for the Magpies. The 25-year-old has found the back of the 11 times from 18 games this campaign and has turned heads at the Parc des Princes.
The Parisians are looking for a new focal point for their attack, with Luis Enrique unimpressed by Randal Kolo Muani. The Spanish manager has apparently identified Isak as an upgrade on the Frenchman and PSG are willing to offer €100m for him.
However, the Ligue 1 champions will face competition from Arsenal in the race for the Swede. The Gunners are also in the market for a new No. 9 at the moment, with Gabriel Jesus failing to convince.
The north London side were heavily linked with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko earlier this summer, but failed to complete a move. While Arsenal could return for the Slovenian next year, perhaps Isak would represent a safer bet.
The Swede is proven in the Premier League and could hit the ground running with a switch to London. Alexander Isak is under contract with Newcastle United until 2028, and the Magpies are likely to demand a fair fee to let him go. However, the Gunners haven't been shy of breaking the bank for the right targets in recent times, so a move cannot be ruled out.
Arsenal have made some wise decisions in the transfer market of late and now have an enviable squad at their disposal. The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season and are in the race for the league once again this campaign.
The north London side are reportedly already putting together plans for the next summer and a new left-back is apparently on their agenda at the moment. Oleksandr Zinchenko has failed to convince so far and Mikel Arteta is reportedly looking for a specialist for the position.
Recent reports from TBRFootball have suggested that Arsenal have set their sights on AC Milan's Theo Hernandez for the job. The Frenchman's contract with the Rossoneri expires in just over 18 months and he is yet to sign a new deal. However, the Gunners will face competition from Chelsea in the race to sign the 27-year-old.
