Sweet Bobby is a shockingly true story of a decade-long catfishing affair based on the Tortoise podcast of the same name. The Netflix documentary follows the harrowing tale of Kirat Assi, who was catfished over almost a decade by her own cousin, and the plight of Bobby and his wife Sanj, who were also unknowingly victims in the case.

Who is Sanj Jandu, and where is she now?

Sanj Jandu, the wife of Bobby Jandu, became a victim of identity theft in Kirat Assi's catfishing scam case. Although it's unclear when the couple first met, Sanj and Bobby were in love in 2011 when Bobby proposed, and they tied the knot a year later. They have two kids together - a son and a daughter.

All was going well for the happy family until Kirat showed up at their doorstep in a frantic state in 2018, accusing Bobby Jandu of having been involved with her for years before deceiving her. Bobby denied the allegations, and Sanj stood by him, never losing her faith or trust in her husband.

As per Sanj Jandu's account, Bobby had never given her a reason to question him, so she stood by him when he told her that he had no idea who Kirat was and had nothing going on with her.

It eventually came to light that Bobby’s identity was being stolen to manipulate, exploit and catfish Kirat, and the Jandus realized that Bobby had been a victim of identity theft all these years without his knowledge.

The ordeal brought the couple closer, owing to the understanding, trust, respect and confidence between the two. Sanj continues to live with Bobby Jandu and their 9-year-old son and five-year-old daughter in the Brighton area of the UK.

More about Sanj's life

Sanj Jandu was a corporate employee since 2017 and recently took up writing. She finished her first children’s book this summer. The Jandus' nine-year-old son has cerebral palsy and needs to use a wheelchair as well as other mobility aids.
