A few months ago, PinkPantheress featured in a promotional interview with ABC News' Prime Playlist. The singer was found promoting her new single Turn It Up, delivered to streaming platforms on May 24, 2024.
While discussing her discography and career, the rapper explains how she created and produced some of her biggest records. She highlights performing live in front of her passionate fanbase, explaining:
"They're always so intense. But in a good way, cause I love Intensity. There's no point doing anything unless you're going to be intense about it."
ABC highlights Pink's wistful lyricism and the length of her songs, usually produced to be two and a half minutes long. The rapper explains her writing process, saying:
"I was able to experiment, and making short songs was just a result of me experimenting, and a song doesn't need to be longer than 2 minutes 30. We don't need to repeat a verse, we don't need to have a bridge, we don't need it. We don't need a long outro."
The interview revisits PinkPantheress choosing her artist name, inspirations, and come-up days when she reportedly learned production on GarageBand to craft her signature "bedroom pop" style of music.
"I have a playlist that hasn't been updated for months, years actually. It has all the songs that I've ever liked. I started picking up on some songs that had sections I really liked more than other sections of the song. When I find sections like that, I feel like I could use that and put it into something in my music," - PinkPantheress stated.
A new release from PinkPantheress will officially follow up on her recent collaboration with the South Korean girl group LE SSERAFIM.
Both worked together to deliver a funky pop record titled CRAZY, delivered to streaming platforms on September 4, 2024.
