Last year, Taylor Swift released the re-recorded versions of her third and fifth studio albums, Speak Now and 1989 respectively, making her sixth album, Reputation, the next one in line.

Ever since the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version) in October 2023, Swifties have been eagerly awaiting the Love Story singer to drop Reputation (Taylor's Version) — now popularly known as Rep TV.

As Taylor Swift is popular for dropping subtle hints about her upcoming works through her outfits, her fans are eagle-eyed in wait for any clues that might point toward Rep TV's release.

Beyond the outfits, Swifties are also paying keen attention to her Instagram posts, upcoming shows, and any other potential clue pointing toward Rep TV. Swift's Reputation was originally released on November 10, 2017.

Throughout the last year, Swifties have come up with several theories regarding the release of Rep TV, with the most recent one claiming that it might drop on October 18. There are several reasons behind this claim.

Celebrity musicians Shawn Mendes and Joe Jonas— who were supposed to release their fifth and second studio albums respectively on October 18, have recently pushed them. Fans suspect that the reason behind their postponement might be the fear of being overshadowed by an even bigger artist dropping their work on the same date, and Taylor could potentially be that artist.

Coincidentally, October 18 is also the first night of the Miami show of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour. This coincident— whether accidental or intentional— has led Swifties to believe that the Cruel Summer singer might be dropping Rep TV while performing live that night. If not the release, fans believe her Miami show could potentially include an announcement about the re-recorded album's release.

The theories of Rep TV's release were further fueled by the outfit the Bad Blood singer chose for her date with Travis Kelce over the weekend. Tay wore a golden velvet bustier top with a matching micro mini skirt to go with it, while her beau was spotted in a blue polo tee. Their outfits hinted at a line from Dancing With Our Hands Tied— a track from Reputation— saying:

"Deep blue, but you painted me golden."

Swift's outfit was complemented with all-black accessories, including black Versace platform mules, with a Medusa emblem adorned on the top. Her black crossbody bag— by Roberto Cavalli— had an RC logo where the C's were formed as serpents. Since snakes were a prominent presence in Tay's Reputation era iconography, their return in her ensemble could be a sign that Rep TV is coming soon.

Swifties were disappointed when Taylor's GMA revealed nothing about Rep TV

When it was revealed that Taylor Swift would be making an announcement on Good Morning America (GMA) on Wednesday, October 15, it led many Swifties to believe the Enchanted singer would be dropping details of Rep TV's release later this week.

However, they were disappointed when Taylor Swift disclosed nothing about Rep TV but instead announced the release of her Eras Tour book as well as of the CDs and vinyls of The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology on November 29. Both of them will be available on Target.

While most of the Swifties have dropped the idea of Rep TV's release this weekend, others remain hopeful. Whether or not the Cardigan singer speaks about the re-recorded album on her first Miami show on Friday remains to be seen.

The last leg of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour will take place in the USA and Canada, concluding in the latter on December 8.
