Who is Kankan? Real name, age and all about the rapper as Google death claim sparks concern among fans

Well-known American rapper Keandrian Qynzel Jones, professionally known as Kankan has been trending on social media for some time ever since reports related to his death went viral. The rumors emerged out of the Google search results for his name alongside his Wikipedia page, where it was stated that he died on October 15, 2024.

This left his fans shocked and they took to his latest Instagram post to pay tribute. However, the news was revealed to be fake since the artist was spotted commenting below a post shared through a page called iFunny on X on October 16, 2024. He wrote with a few laughing emojis:

Netizens also responded below Kankan's reply, with a user adding a screenshot of the Google search result with the date of his demise. The rapper has gained recognition over the years for his EPs such as BenjiKan, InMyGlo 2, Codeine Graveyard, and Live Fast Die Slay 2.

While people started expressing their grief on Keandrian's Instagram post that was shared back on March 29 last year, a section of the public tried to stop the rumors from spreading anymore, claiming that he was alive. They even referred to his comment on X.

Kankan has released only two albums so far in his career

The Dallas, Texas native has worked with many popular faces over the years such as Lil Pump and Smokepurpp. He started his career with SoundCloud and released several EPs over the next few years alongside a self-titled mixtape. He also has a single in his credits titled Wokeup which managed to accumulate millions of streams on various platforms.

Kankan also appeared for an interview with Our Generation Music in August 2021, where he revealed that he began rapping two years ago and did not take it seriously in the beginning. He further stated:

"I posted a poll on my story saying if I should hop in the booth. Everybody said yes, I did it, and I was like, 'this sh*t is fun.' Then I did another one, and it just kept going from there."

The 28-year-old released a collaborative project with Fifty Grand and Mixed Matches, Summer Rain, which came out back in 2019. As per Hot New Hip Hop, Grand elaborated a little bit on the song by saying:

"I made Summer Rain with the goal of diversifying my production style and working efficiently with up-and-coming artists I believe in. I also love summery songs. This is my ode to them and to the rain."

He has worked with the record label Empire and his debut album Rr was released back in 2021. Keandrian's second album Way2Geeked managed to reach on top of the charts. Apart from this, he has not announced any new projects so far.
