Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches season 2 sets premiere date at AMC with new trailer

After some other exciting updates from AMC regarding Anne Rice's Immortal Universe, the network has also given an exciting update about Mayfair Witches season 2, which has nearly wrapped up filming, according to the latest press release. Moreover, the show also has a 2025 premiere date.

Fans of the series will be glad to know that the wait for the second season of the Alexandra Daddario-led series is not long as Mayfair Witches season 2 has received a release date of January 5, 2025.

This was revealed by the cast members of the series who attended the Main Stage at New York Comic Con. The previous season of the show dates back to February 2023. A trailer for the second season has also been released.

The panel, which included executive producer Mark Johnson and showrunner Esta Spalding, as well as cast members Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels, also featured a part of the second season's premiere, which also hints at how far the production has already progressed.

What will Mayfair Witches season 2 be about?

The second season of Anne Rice's acclaimed adaptation will pick up from where the first season left off and continue with the story of Rowan Fielding. However, in this latest update from the network, they also revealed a bit about the second season. The trailer also seems to give a glimpse into what to expect from the second season of the show.

The synopsis for the second season reads:

"Based on Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches, season two of Mayfair Witches continues the journey of Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) after she has unwittingly given birth to the demon Lasher (Jack Huston). She is determined to understand what he has become – human or monster? – and to use him to fulfill her purpose as a healer, but when tragedy strikes, she must put aside her own desires and fight to protect her family."

The second season of Mayfair Witches is executive produced by Mark Johnson, showrunner Esta Spalding, Tom Williams, Michelle Ashford, Christopher Rice, and the late Anne Rice. Most of the cast members from the first season are expected to return for the second one.

The series is also a part of the larger Anne Rice Immortal Universe, which also features Interview with the Vampire. More shows are also being added to this shared universe, which makes the prospect of the second season of Mayfair Witches all the more exciting.

The series stars Tongayi Chirisa, Jack Huston, and Harry Hamlin, in the primary roles besides Alexandra Daddario. Other prominent stars to feature in the show included Beth Grant, Erica Gimpel, Annabeth Gish, and Geraldine Singer, amongst many others.
