The Irrational season 2: Full list of cast
NBC’s The Irrational is a crime-drama series that premiered in September 2023. Led by Jesse L. Martin, who plays the role of Professor Alec Mercer, the series takes viewers through various complicated cases involving the FBI and local authorities. Mercer acts as a consultant to various authorities in the series, for which the synopsis reads:
“Alec Mercer is a world-renowned behavioral scientist who lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behavior.”
Season 1 consisted of a total of 11 episodes, with the series getting renewed for its second season back in November 2023. Season 2 of The Irrational premiered recently in October 2024, with two episodes currently available to stream on multiple platforms. The Irrational season 2 consists of an ensemble cast led by Martin, and features a range of other stars, including Maahra Hill and Travina Springer.
The main cast of The Irrational Season 2
1) Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer
Jesse L. Martin takes on the role of the protagonist of the series, Alec Mercer. He has appeared in all the episodes of the series thus far and plays the role of a genius behavioral scientist who is often called upon for help by the FBI and local authorities.
Martin has appeared in a bunch of crime dramas in the past as well, including Law & Order and Smash. He was also part of The Flash TV series, along with The Philanthropist, and Rent: Live.
2) Maahra Hill as Marisa Clark
The only other star who has appeared in all episodes of The Irrational thus far is Maahra Hill. Hill takes on the role of FBI Agent Marisa Clark, who also appears as the biggest ally of Mercer in the series.
Marisa is also the ex-wife of Alec Mercer, and the two continue to have a complicated relationship in the series. Hill has previously appeared in projects such as Black-ish, Delilah, and How to Get Away with Murder.
3) Travina Springer as Kylie
Travina Springer has appeared in all but one episode of The Irrational thus far. She takes on the role of Kylie Mercer, Alec’s younger sister who is also the sole family that he has around. Kylie constantly looks out for her brother and vice versa. with the actress also boasting of an impressive portfolio.
The actress has appeared in shows such as Ms. Marvel, Strange Angel, among others. Springer is therefore technically a part of the MCU as well, and can be expected to feature prominently in future Marvel projects.
