The Paramount Plus drama television series, Landman, has released three episodes so far and has already encountered considerable backlash from its fan base. Fans of the show are clearly voicing their concerns regarding specific scenes portrayed in the first two episodes, particularly those between Billy Bob Thornton's character, Tommy Norris, and Michelle Randolph's character, Ainsley Norris (who plays Tommy's daughter in the series).

One of the controversial scenes features the father and daughter engaging in an awkward conversation about the latter's physical relationship with her boyfriend. The other scene depicts her moving about the house in what some have considered to be revealing clothes in the presence of her father and his male colleagues.

These two incidents have unsettled some viewers, leading them to voice their discontent on social media. Among various social media platforms, Landman viewers have primarily flocked to Reddit, where they are engaging in extensive discussions surrounding this issue.

"Half the damn show was pointless scenes of her being so weirdly over se*ualized. It contributes literally nothing at all to the plot and is just so bizarre. Even though she's obviously an adult, her character is 17, so it all felt very pe*ophilic and in*estuous. I cannot overstate how f*cking weird they are for writing all this in. The shower scene?!?! Weird weird weird, " wrote one user on the platform.
"The father/daughter dialogue at the football game and the bedroom scenes were so creepy. Even if without those scenes, this first episode of Landman wasn’t good. It seems to be trying hard to be a blend of Yellowstone with Friday Night Lights, but it isn’t working...., "wrote another user on the platform.
"The whole thing gave me the ick. She gave me the ick. The men gave me the ick. Just no, wrote yet another.

Some people were caught off guard by how these particular scenes ended up in the show without being questioned by both the creators and the actors during the table read sessions, general discussions, or other phases of the filmmaking process. They pledged not to watch the show after what transpired.

"It made me angry and disgusted. I'll never go back and watch that show again," one user said.
This is so inappropriate, terrible show !! I’m shocked , this seems to be about them, not watching anymore ! Done, " said another user.
"...After Episode 3, I can say unambiguously that I will not be watching further episodes. I'm so disappointed in Taylor Sheridan whose prior shows have reflected depth and quality," another user also said.

As previously mentioned, with only three episodes released so far, viewers of the Paramount Plus series Landman are already voicing their complaints about the show's content.

One of the most important concerns that has arisen concern the dynamic between the father-daughter duo of Tommy Norris and Ainsley Norris, which some viewers have found to be highly inappropriate and unnecessary.

While some Landman viewers expressed their discomfort after watching those scenes, others stated that they would not return to the show.

Besides, some also pointed out the presence of multiple one-dimensional female characters in the show who have not contributed anything to the overall narrative, emphasizing that this is a trend they have noticed from the show's creators.
