3 things that will happen if The Rock wins the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is one of the biggest Hollywood stars in the world to come from WWE. While others, including John Cena, Dave Batista, and even Stone Cold Steve Austin, have made their presence known both in and out of pro wrestling, none have done so quite like The Rock.

Despite being such a big mainstream star, The Rock found his way back to pro wrestling earlier this year. Despite initially teasing a massive WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns, the veteran turned heel following backlash from fans and became The Final Boss.

Over the past year, The Great One biggest rival has been Cody Rhodes. After The American Nightmare became world champion at WrestleMania XL, The Rock made it clear he intends to return and take the title away from him. While that is intriguing, one question many haven't been asking is what that outcome actually leads to.

This article will look at three interesting outcomes that can come from The Rock dethroning Cody Rhodes of the world title. This includes a major feud being put off or canceled, a dream match finally coming to fruition, and more.

Below are three things that will happen if The Rock wins the Undisputed WWE Championship from Cody Rhodes.

#3. The Undisputed WWE Title likely won't be around much

The Rock is a busy man. He is an actor who not only stars in major motion pictures but has also dabbled in traditional television, both through projects such as Young Rock and reality and competition programming. This is on top of his constant media appearances and side businesses.

Due to his busy schedule, The Rock will never be fully active again in WWE. Despite being on the TKO Board of Directors, he is far too busy to influence the product regularly, especially to appear on RAW and SmackDown weekly.

As a result, if The Rock does win the Undisputed WWE Title, the prized world championship likely won't be seen around very often. Just like with Roman Reigns, Logan Paul, and Brock Lesnar, The Final Boss would be a part-time champion, and the belt would be essentially gone for months on end if The Final Boss were to win it.

#2. Cody Rhodes' feud with Randy Orton will likely be canceled or delayed

WWE has been teasing a particularly interesting feud between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare has served as a mentee to The Viper during their time in The Legacy faction.

Orton helped Cody a lot in the past. Rhodes' first feud in WWE was with Randy, and they later united as part of Legacy. The two were then joined at the hip once Randy Orton returned from his career-altering back surgery in late 2023.

However, things seemingly took a turn after Cody won the Undisputed WWE Championship from Roman Reigns. While The Viper has supported Rhodes during his feud with The Bloodline, fans have noticed Orton staring at the world title during backstage segments. The veteran could be looking to win his 15th world title and will likely turn on his former stable to get it.

Of course, that can't happen if The Rock wins the belt. What would be disappointing for many is that the feud between Cody and Randy would likely be delayed or outright canceled if Rhodes is no longer the champion. The crux of the turn would be missing, making the betrayal ineffective.

#1. Roman Reigns will almost certainly dethrone The Rock

As noted, The Rock returned to WWE television in January 2024 to tease a feud with Roman Reigns. The idea was for the two legendary figures to clash at WrestleMania 40. The only problem was Cody Rhodes was far too popular for the bout to happen.

WWE fans wanted Cody to get his spot in the main event of WrestleMania against Roman Reigns. This led to The Rock turning heel, Seth Rollins getting involved, and an unforgettable Road To WrestleMania.

However, if The Great One dethrones The American Nightmare and the latter shifts his focus on Kevin Owens, Reigns could finally go one-on-one with his cousin. The Samoans would likely clash at WrestleMania 41 this coming April. There is little doubt that the OTC vs. The Final Boss would be a main event match.

If the bout does happen, Roman Reigns will likely dethrone The Rock to become the Undisputed WWE Champion. While both men are part-timers, if The Final Boss goes in as champion, he will be far too inconsistent to retain the title, leading to Reigns again being on top.
