WWE is currently riding a massive wave of success under the umbrella of TKO Group Holding and the creative supervision of Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Despite being at its peak, fans have pointed out a major problem that might result in massive trouble for promotion in the near future. The issue is the lack of heel superstars on the roster.
Rhea Ripley was a well-established heel superstar for the women’s division. Despite portraying a dark character on television, fans used to love her. She evolved into an anti-heel character, almost similar to Roman Reigns’s Tribal Chief character. However, there is an argument to be made that she would be better off returning to her heel persona.
Earlier this year, Mami turned babyface after she was backstabbed by Dominik Mysterio, who cost her the title match against Liv Morgan at SummerSlam 2024. However, since turning face, things have been different. Ripley was undefeated and had an unmatched aura.
Her booking now feels repeated, and she has been one of the top merch sellers and stars for the Stamford-based company. Triple H should turn her heel back before fans start to feel disconnected by her repeated plot and turn their back on her.
Rhea Ripley is gearing up to lock horns with Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LeRae alongside her face team that includes Bianca Belair, Naomi, IYO Sky, and Bayley on November 30 in the Women’s WarGames match.
The Women’s WarGames match is indeed an important bout for The Nightmare, as she has already failed to win back the title in multiple major matches in a row against Morgan. One more loss would potentially eliminate her name from the championship contenders list. If she wants another title shot against Morgan, she needs to help her team win the WarGames match dominantly.
The latest episode of Monday Night RAW saw Adam Pearce introduce a brand new WWE Women’s IC title after the Women’s United States Champion was introduced on SmackDown.
Witnessing the sudden fall in Rhea Ripley’s character, wrestling veteran Bill Apter, while responding to a fan comment on the Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, expressed that Ripley could be crowned as the first-ever Women’s Intercontinental Champion.
"I see them right now putting the belt on Rhea Ripley," stated Bill Apter.
It remains to be seen how Triple H and WWE Creative might fix Rhea Ripley’s current booking and what plans they might have for the Raw Women’s division.
