Carmelo Hayes to bring back former champion after 196 days as his bodyguard? Potential surprise on WWE SmackDown explored

Carmelo Hayes isn't the most likable character in the SmackDown locker room. With a moniker like "Him", that should come as no surprise. If his ego continues to get the better of him, he might end up on the bad side of more than just LA Knight and Andrade. But rather than turning to the good side, he might just hire a former champion as his bodyguard instead.

The former champion in question is The Nigerian Giant Omos. With a superstar like that on his side, Carmelo Hayes can rest assured. Omos is no stranger to the bodyguarding business. He was a bodyguard of sorts to AJ Styles. He could return after 196 days to reprise that role with Melo this week on SmackDown.

The Nigerian Giant's arrival would be a surprise for the WWE Universe, and one that would immediately make Hayes a threat on the main roster.

With Omos by his side, Hayes could be unstoppable, much like Styles was for a while. Then, whether it's The Megastar, Andrade, or any other superstar in the locker room, no one would be able to stop Melo. But, as things stand, this is nothing more than speculation. The former RAW Tag Team Champion last wrestled on the April 5, 2024, edition of SmackDown.

Carmelo Hayes will be busy preparing for his seventh match against Andrade

Whether Omos returns as his bodyguard or not will be secondary for Carmelo Hayes. Right now, he needs to be laser-focused on what is to come on Friday. After all, he will be looking to end the series with his long-time rival Andrade as they head into match seven.

The series between the two is currently tied at three wins apiece right now. Their final match on SmackDown is sure to be quite the spectacle. It could propel them to new heights on the blue brand. Who knows? Perhaps a world championship shot could even be in store based on who picks up the win tonight.

Hayes will surely be walking to the ring with his usual confidence. But he may want to keep it in check, lest he blow one of the biggest opportunities of his career. In other words, he better not miss.
