Seth Rollins and CM Punk have been locked in a personal feud against each other, and the animosity between these stars has reached its peak. Punk and Rollins are going to lock horns to settle their beef inside the squared circle tonight in a historic episode of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. However, it appears this rivalry might conclude before WrestleMania 41 as The Straight Edge Superstar has hinted that he might face a former Intercontinental Champion at 'Mania this year.
The former Intercontinental Champion Punk could face is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Last week on Monday Night RAW, CM Punk had an intense verbal spat with Seth Rollins, and both stars ridiculed one another with personal jabs. During their verbal jousting, Punk mentioned the Texas Rattlesnake, taking shots at the veteran.
CM Punk questioned whether Steve Austin took his ball and went home. The Second City Saint also mentioned Seth Rollins’ wife, Becky Lynch, in the conversation. Although Punk referencing Steve Austin might seem ordinary to spectators, it might trigger the veteran.
Also recently, Punk once again namedropped the 59-year-old during his recent interview with NightCap. The host asked The Second City Saint about dream opponents and he namedropped Bret Hart and Stone Cold.
After being mentioned by Punk, the two-time Intercontinental Champion might take offense and could come out of retirement after over 1,114 days to challenge The Second City Saint at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
That said, the suggested angle is hypothetical.
Stone Cold last wrestled in a No Holds Barred Match against Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38. Interestingly, the Texas Rattlesnake appeared to be in good shape, as he keeps fans updated with pictures of his physique on social media.
It appears that the Stamford-based promotion has been pitching ideas to Steve Austin for making an appearance as there were rumors last year that The Taxes Rattlesnake was planned to rush out in place of The Undertaker and neutralize The Rock at WrestleMania 40, but that didn’t work out. A source close to the promotion revealed that Stone Cold was in talks to make a surprise appearance on RAW tonight. Last year in August, while speaking on Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, the 59-year-old expressed his desire to be at WrestleMania 41.
It will be thrilling to see if Stone Cold and CM Punk clash inside the WWE ring in the future.
