Cody Rhodes to get suspended ahead of WWE SmackDown today after major backstage incident? Exploring the possibility

Cody Rhodes could be suspended ahead of the next edition of WWE SmackDown. The Undisputed WWE Champion has been hell-bent on attacking Kevin Owens ever since the latter injured Orton.

Last week on WWE SmackDown, The American Nightmare wanted to handle business in the ring. However, he could not as Nick Aldis had asked Kevin Owens not to come to the show.

This decision from the SmackDown General Manager could see Cody Rhodes revolt differently. This Friday night, The Prizefighter is coming to the show for a face-off with his former friend. The Undisputed WWE Champion could use this as an opportunity to get his hands on Owens. But, he may not do it in the ring.

This is because there are possibilities that the SmackDown General Manager could have security in place to avoid any mishaps. This could be anticipated by Rhodes and the champ could attack Owens in the parking lot.

Cody Rhodes could be hiding in the parking lot as Kevin Owens' Lamborghini enters the arena. Once he steps out, The American Nightmare could blindside him, leading to a huge brawl.

These actions from the Undisputed WWE Champion could force the hand of the SmackDown General Manager. Against his will, Nick Aldis will then be forced to suspend Rhodes, canceling his potential Survivor Series match and later setting it up for Saturday Night's Main Event in December.

Cody Rhodes could miss WWE Survivor Series

The prediction above could be how things go down after a huge potential reveal. According to 4YouWrestling, the Undisputed WWE Champion will not feature in this year's edition of WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.

“Cody will not be in WarGames. In fact, it seems Cody will not be working Survivor Series at all.”

Cody Rhodes was initially planned to be the fifth member of Roman Reigns' WarGames team. However, it now looks like it will most likely be Seth Rollins or CM Punk.

The American Nightmare could instead be booked for Saturday Night's Main Event.

He could defend his WWE Undisputed Championship against Kevin Owens at the special event. This match could be a one-off before his story with The Rock potentially restarts ahead of the Royal Rumble.
