Jade Cargill fell victim to a brutal backstage attack last week on WWE SmackDown that left her seriously injured. Analyst Sam Roberts recently suggested one of two top superstars could have conducted the assault.
After being found unconscious on a car's hood, Cargill was rushed to a hospital. The company later announced that one-half of the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions had suffered multiple injuries, including a sprained MCL in her right knee, a bruised kidney, a tibial plateau bone bruise on her right knee, and facial lacerations. Meanwhile, everyone has been wondering who was behind the attack.
On his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts disclosed that he believes either Naomi or Bayley was behind the unfortunate incident. The Role Model and The Glow are former Women's Champions and will be on the same team this Saturday at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames.
"See, for me, I think it's one of them. I think it's either Bayley or Naomi that took out Jade Cargill. That's my thought. And I think Bayley would probably be the better choice because whenever Jade Cargill comes back, I would love to see a babyface Jade Cargill versus a heel Bayley. I just think that'd be a great match," he said. [From 55:32 to 55:49]
On the same episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts also discussed whether Charlotte Flair might have been behind the attack on Jade Cargill. The Queen has been absent for almost a year due to multiple knee injuries.
The 41-year-old did not rule out the possibility of that scenario. Meanwhile, he addressed what could be a motive for the 14-time Women's Champion to assault The Storm:
"I think that one of the questions that people are asking is, when is Charlotte Flair coming back? Because Charlotte Flair is a name that people go, 'Well, what if Charlotte Flair did this because she's been out watching Jade Cargill get all this publicity, all this hype, all this love. Meanwhile, Charlotte Flair is sitting there going, 'Pardon my French, but what am I, yesterday's tomatoes?' That's what she would say. And I go, 'No, I hope not.' Charlotte Flair is an interesting option depending on when Charlotte Flair is returning," he said.
While some have been pointing fingers at Cargill's partner, Bianca Belair, as the potential attacker, the WWE analyst revealed that he did not find that scenario convincing. It would be interesting to see who will finally be revealed as the attacker.
