Big update on WWE canceling a show

There were rumors over the past month that WWE might be ready to cancel one of its shows. However, a new report has indicated that NXT Level Up is not going anywhere, and there is already a scheduled taping at the Performance Center.

NXT Level Up premiered on February 18, 2022, as a replacement for 205 Live. It features up-and-coming stars from the developmental system, giving them a platform to perform in front of an audience and learn to work in front of a camera. The program is currently shown on Peacock and the WWE Network.

According to Wrestling Headlines, there were conflicting reports about the future of the NXT show. There were speculations that it would get canceled after a scheduled taping was nixed. However, it seems like the show will continue to be part of the company's programming.

Corey Brennan of Fightful reported that there were matches taped for NXT Level Up this past Tuesday before the live show on The CW. NXT was back at the Performance Center after spending the first week of October in Chicago and last week in St. Louis.

NXT has a loaded roster and some of the stars need a place to perform and be featured. NXT Level Up is perfect for upstarts to hone their in-ring skills until they're ready to move to the upper echelon of the developmental brand.

What happened in this week's WWE NXT Level Up tapings?

As mentioned above, NXT Level Up was back filming matches before Tuesday's show at the WWE Performance Center. There were three matches on the card, as reported by 411 Mania.

Here are the full results from the tapings:

Tyriek Igwe, Tyson DuPont, and Niko Vance have had stints on NXT TV, while Harlem Lewis has wrestled on RAW as an enhancement talent. Lainey Reid and Layla Diggs are also waiting for their first appearance on the main NXT show.

As for Tavion Heights and Malik Blade, they have been featured on NXT TV, with Heights appearing in other promotions as part of WWE's partnership with TNA Wrestling and Pro Wrestling NOAH.
