CM Punk celebrated a major WWE anniversary today on social media and took a shot at Seth Rollins. The 46-year-old returned this past Friday night on SmackDown and was revealed to be Roman Reigns' fifth teammate for the Men's WarGames Match at WWE Survivor Series 2024 on 30 November.

The Second City Saint returned to the company last year in the final moments of Survivor Series. Punk returned following the Men's WarGames Match and got an incredible reaction from the fans in attendance. Seth Rollins did not like Punk's return and gave the veteran the middle finger from the ringside area.

Punk used Rollins giving him the middle finger as the background for his Instagram post reflecting on his return to the company one year ago. You can check out Punk's message on his Instagram story by clicking here.

"Happy one year anniversary of my return to WWE. Thank you to all the fans for waiting, chanting my name for years, and carrying me on this journey. Thank you to my family and friends backstage for the warmth and continued support. Thank you Paul, Nick, and Bruce for the trust and making it all happen. Love you all! We are just getting started," he wrote.

Former WWE star comments on his issues with CM Punk

Matt Hardy recently discussed his issues with CM Punk and noted that he thinks the veteran is a talented performer.

Speaking on the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the 50-year-old discussed his relationship with CM Punk. Hardy stated that he thought Punk was wrong for calling out The Elite, Hangman Page, and others after AEW All Out 2022 and that he had no other issues with him besides that.

"It was cool," Hardy said, discussing Survivor Series 2006. "Once we were first around Punk, everybody got along, and still, I don't have any issues with Punk. I think Punk is extremely talented. I think he's great. The only thing I said which people will hold over my head like, 'Oh my God, he doesn't like CM Punk,' was just that I think he was wrong in the All Out deal where he called out The Elite and Hangman [Adam Page] and everything else. I just think he was in the wrong there and kinda started that problem." [48:51 – 49:14]

CM Punk was terminated by All Elite Wrestling last year following a backstage altercation at All In 2023. It will be interesting to see if the former AEW Champion can help the OG Bloodline pick up the victory in the Men's WarGames Match at the WWE Survivor Series this coming weekend.
