Major star shares update with AJ Lee amid WWE return speculation
A major WWE Superstar shared an update with AJ Lee today amid speculation about the latter's potential return to the company. Lee has not wrestled since teaming with Naomi and Paige (now known as Saraya in AEW) to defeat Natalya and The Bella Twins on the March 30, 2015, edition of WWE RAW.
Bayley took to Instagram to share an update with Lee ahead of tonight's episode of the red brand. The Role Model shared a photo of herself, AJ Lee, CM Punk, and the couple's dog Larry. You can check out the photo in her post below.
"We are good at selfies," she wrote.
The Stamford-based promotion released behind-the-scenes footage of CM Punk's return to WWE a year ago today at Survivor Series 2023. In the video shared by the company, Bayley asked Punk to bring Lee back to the company minutes after he returned.
WWE star Bayley reveals she pushed for match against AJ Lee
SmackDown Superstar Bayley recently shared that she pushed for a match against AJ Lee back in the day.
In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling earlier this year, the Role Model revealed that she pushed to face Lee for the Divas Championship in 2013. Bayley added that she became friends with the 37-year-old over a decade ago, and the two were still close to this day.
"Yes. We did wrestle in 2013 for the Divas Championship, which like, I wrestled for the Divas Championship. That's freaking crazy, against AJ Lee. And that was really where our friendship and our bond grew from. She was so cool to me. But I think that because of the history and because we have stayed close throughout all these years, which is pretty nuts that we still text each other and hang out, I think it only makes sense. And I know that it's something that I have pushed for, so I hope one day we can make that come to life," she said. [2:23 onwards]

CM Punk will be teaming up with the OG Bloodline in the Men's WarGames Match this Saturday night at WWE Survivor Series 2024. It will be interesting to see if Lee ever decides to return to the company.
