Hall of Fame wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently discussed CM Punk possibly having a retirement match. This came after Jeff Hardy hinted at retiring The Best in the World.

Hardy is a former WWE Champion and a legend in the professional wrestling industry. He recently spoke about a possible Hall of Fame induction. The Charismatic Enigma mentioned that he would love the opportunity to revisit his feud with Punk and possibly retire him in the process.

This week on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine, Bill Apter expressed his excitement about the prospect of Hardy vs. Punk, calling it a "fan dream" match. However, the Hall of Fame journalist doubted whether it would be the RAW Superstar's retirement match. Apter noted that TNA Wrestling and WWE had a good working relationship, and the bout could happen at some point.

"Regarding Jeff Hardy and CM Punk, billboard match to me definitely. I would love to see that. But he's not gonna retire CM Punk. If he's looking for a retirement match against Punk, he's currently in TNA, and they have a good working agreement with WWE at this point. I would love to see Jeff Hardy against CM Punk. To me, that's a fan dream match." [From 1:35 onwards]

Punk and Hardy have collided several times in the past. Their rivalry in 2009 is regarded as one of the finest programs by WWE of the Ruthless Aggression Era. It will be interesting to see whether the two modern-day greats cross paths in the ring again.
