A wrestling veteran recently revealed an inside WWE source had informed him of the match in which Roman Reigns is scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 41. He claimed it would not involve massive legend. The name being discussed is Jonathan Coachman.
Last year, Reigns was supposed to fight his cousin, The Rock, at WrestleMania 40. However, the match was scrapped following fans' backlash over Cody Rhodes' position. While rumors suggested The Final Boss and The Tribal Chief could square off at this year's Show of Shows, the 52-year-old returned on RAW's debut on Netflix last night to seemingly turn babyface and put his cousin over.
After the former Undisputed WWE Champion defeated Solo Sikoa in Tribal Combat, The Rock put the Ula Fala around Reigns' neck and hugged him. The Final Boss' actions on RAW led many to believe he would not be at WrestleMania 41.
On the Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word podcast, wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman disclosed that an inside source had told him about the company's plans for Reigns at the upcoming Show of Shows. He revealed that they do not involve The Rock:
"I found out from an inside source tonight, gentlemen, what is gonna be one of the matches at WrestleMania and Roman is gonna be involved and The Rock is not gonna be involved. That's all I can say. That's all I can say," he said. [14:01 - 14:15]
On the Gigantic Pop podcast, wrestling veteran Matt Morgan discussed The Rock's appearance on the premiere of Monday Night RAW on Netflix. He claimed his actions on the show were due to his position as a director of the board.
Meanwhile, the TNA legend pointed out that the company still has a chance to set up a match for The Final Boss at WrestleMania, predicting the 52-year-old WWE legend will go head-to-head with his cousin, Roman Reigns, at The Show of Shows:
"In my humble opinion, I'm just calling it now, I do think we will see [The] Rock vs. Roman at this next 'Mania. I do," he said.
It would be interesting to see whether The Rock will play a role at the upcoming Showcase of the Immortals
