John Cena's WWE Farewell Tour commenced with the confirmation of his participation in the 2025 Men's Royal Rumble Match during RAW's Netflix premiere. Following this week's flagship show, Drew McIntyre issued a stern warning to the 16-time World Champion.

On the January 6, 2025, installment of the red brand, The Franchise Player acknowledged that his previous singles match record might hinder his pursuit of becoming a record-breaking 17-time World Champion. However, Cena asserted that winning the Men's Royal Rumble Match would provide a viable path to achieving this milestone.

Speaking on The Babyfaces Podcast, The Scottish Warrior wished "good luck" to John Cena on his quest for the 17th world title. However, Drew McIntyre declared his intention to have a one-on-one match and a promo battle with the 47-year-old megastar.

"All I care about is, I want time on the microphone with him [John Cena] and I want that one-on-one match, and I'm going to make it happen, one way or another," he said. [From 08:02 to 08:09]

Drew McIntyre takes a shot at a major WWE star while putting John Cena on notice

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion issued a chilling warning to John Cena, drawing a chilling parallel to previously injuring CM Punk at the 2024 Royal Rumble. Drew McIntyre spoke about this on the same appearance on The Babyfaces Podcast.

The Scottish Warrior implied that The Cenation Leader could meet a similar fate as The Second City Saint if he dared to obstruct his path to WrestleMania.

"Let's just hope he [Cena] doesn't end up in the ring with me in the Rumble because the last person who got in my way at the Rumble last year and was aiming to main event WrestleMania was CM Punk, and I tore his tricep off the bone. So, I'll maybe ask Cena to pick the muscle or pick the bone because I'm tearing it or breaking it," he added. [From 08:10 to 08:28]

It remains uncertain whether WWE plans to book Drew McIntyre against John Cena during the latter's retirement tour.
