SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis needs to deliver after this week's remarkable debut on the Netflix streaming platform for WWE RAW. A rematch from December's Saturday Night's Main Event is reportedly set for tonight's show.
Women's United States Champion Chelsea Green vs. Michin will take place on the show, according to a report from WrestleVotes. Michin has been chasing Chelsea ever since the latter defeated her to become the inaugural titleholder.
As per WrestleVotes on X (fka Twitter), the title rematch was originally planned for the next Saturday Night's Main Event scheduled for later this month. However, it seems WWE has changed plans and is moving ahead with this bout for tonight's edition of SmackDown. Could Green drop the title this soon in her reign?
"According to sources, Chelsea Green vs. Michin will take place tonight on #SmackDown. While there was discussion of holding their Women’s United States Championship rematch at SNME 2, we can confirm the title match is set for this evening in Portland," tweeted WrestleVotes.
Ahead of the show, it was announced that Men's United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his belt against LA Knight. This is also a rematch as the two worked Survivor Series: WarGames last year, where The Wayward Samurai won the title from Knight.
Nia Jax trusted Tiffany Stratton and the two have been inseparable since last summer. However, Jax also often berated Stratton, almost making it an uncomfortable partnership. In the end, the former Ms. Money in the Bank swerved both Jax and Candice LeRae, who seems to have taken on the role Tiffy had before.
Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank contract last week on Nia Jax, defeating her and claiming the Women's Championship. Stratton desperately needs a muscle at this point, believes WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, who is certain The Irresistible Force will be out for revenge. Ahead of the show, The Buff Barbie's segment has been announced. She will address the fans.
"See you tonight, Portland 💋," Stratton wrote on her Instagram ahead of SmackDown.
Also, will Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appear on tonight's show after going mostly unnoticed on RAW this past Monday's landmark Netflix premiere for the Stamford-based promotion?
