Tonight's SmackDown saw the Motor City Machine Guns earn a hard-fought victory. The duo of Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin took on a pair of former WWE Tag Team Champions.
Earlier in the night, the Machine Guns learned they would be pitted against the ever-arrogant A-Town Down Under. As usual, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller were running their mouths backstage, so SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the match official.
As noted earlier, it was a hard-fought victory for the Motor City Machine Guns. Both teams got some good shots in, and at one point, it looked like anyone could come out on top. However, Shelley and Sabin's experience proved vital.
Towards the end of the match, both teams were in the ring exchanging blows. But, a set of quick tags from the Machine Guns left A-Town Down Under baffled. And, it was not long before Theory got hit with the Skull and Bones, allowing the veteran tag team to pick up the win.
The match was a testament to the quality of both teams. But now, the Machine Guns will look towards the future, and it will most certainly include winning back the WWE Tag Team Championship. The current champions, DIY, better watch out for the team from Detroit.
