While WWE's attention is on Survivor Series WarGames, the decision to leave Cody Rhodes off the match card has certainly not gone down well with Vince Russo.
He has been the face of the company as the undisputed world champion and most fans would have expected Cody Rhodes to defend his title at a major PLE like Survivor Series.
WWE, however, announced recently that Cody Rhodes would instead put his championship on the line against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14.
As things stand, The American Nightmare will not compete at Survivor Series, and Vince Russo called it "poor booking" from WWE's end. Russo also hated the delays in setting up Survivor Series, as you can view below on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW:
"That's unbelievable, man. God, that's just poor booking (Cody Rhodes missing Survivor Series). This Survivor Series they should have had this entire card at least four weeks ago." [23:14 onwards]
Vince Russo felt that WWE was no longer worried about stacking up events in advance as they believed fans would anyway buy and watch their shows.
Russo continued:
"That's absolutely the philosophy because why do we care, they are going to buy it anyway. It doesn't matter what the card is, we'll book it on the last day. I'm telling you this, this is going to catch up with them. I promise you, this is going to catch up with them." [23:54 onwards]
As Survivor Series gets built around The Bloodline saga, WWE has chosen to save up Cody and KO for the returning Saturday Night's Main Event, and it will be interesting to see whether their bold approach pays dividends.
