The New Day finds unlikely supporter amid WWE locker room ban
After The New Day turned on Big E and kicked him out of their group, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are not welcomed in the WWE locker room. They became so despised to a point where nobody wants to be associated with them until recently.
On the December 2, 2024 episode of RAW, The New Day celebrated their 10th anniversary as a team. Kingston and Woods were expected to break up, but they put all of their anger and frustrations on Big E. They turned on their friend, kicking him out of the stable permanently.
The decision drew the ire of many fans, as well as their fellow WWE Superstars. Hall of Famer and LWO leader Rey Mysterio spoke in behalf of the boys, banning the duo from entering the locker room.
Despite their unpopularity among their peers, Woods and Kingston surprisingly received support from Austin Theory. The one-half of A-Town Under joined the former Tag Team Champions in a photoshoot shared on Kingston's official Instagram account.
"Still them Dudes…" Kofi wrote.
When someone like "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio doesn't agree on what The New Day did, it's certainly a heinous act. Even Kofi Kingston's mother was upset about their decision so much that she walked out in disgust.
It will be interesting to see if the former Tag Team Champions get more support in the comings. Maybe they could transfer to SmackDown and get a fresh start.
Big E finally comments on being kicked out of The New Day
More than a month after The New Day banished Big E from the group, the former WWE Champion finally broke his silence about what happened. He was at the January 6 postshow for RAW, explaining his reaction to the betrayal by his longtime friends.
"These are not the two men that I stood side by side with for the last 10 years. This version of those two, I don’t recognize. ... Clearly, we’ve moved in different directions. I’m excited or interested to see what they do with their careers because right now it’s just kind of spinning," Big E said. [H/T: Inside The Ropes]
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were supposed to wrestle Rey Mysterio and a mystery tag team partner on RAW's debut episode on Netflix. However, it was canceled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances.
