WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus recently revealed why she agreed to do a major spot with a male star early in her career. Stratus is one of the greatest names to ever step inside the squared circle.
The 48-year-old joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2000 and started her career as Test and Albert's manager. However, she soon transitioned herself into one of the biggest in-ring talents on the roster and changed the landscape of women's wrestling by becoming the first-ever female talent, alongside Lita, to headline an edition of WWE RAW.
During an interview with Inside The Ropes, Trish Stratus was asked about a major bump she took early in her career when she was a manager. The infamous bump in question is when Bubba Ray Dudley (Bully Ray) slammed the WWE Hall of Famer through a table.
Stratus said that she knew she would eventually be in that spot because, at the time, Bully Ray was putting a lot of female wrestlers through tables. The 48-year-old WWE legend also mentioned that she agreed to do it after Mae Young took the bump as well.
"[It] was a big angle and then, obviously, big culmination. You knew it was coming to that point because Bubba Ray was putting women through the table left, right, and center, including Mae Young. So, I thought if that old b***h is going to go through a table, then I'm sure I am as well. So, I knew that was going to come to that, and it's a big turning point for me in my career," she said.
The former WWE Women's Champion added that she asked Bully Ray to slam her through the table like he would with any other male wrestler. Trish added:
"And so, I remember saying to Bubba because he kinda protects the women at times. If you watch the bump carefully, you can see that he was protecting the women, and I was like, 'I just wanna go straight through. Like, I don't want you to protect me; I want to go straight through as you would do a guy.' And he did that; he put me right through the da*n table, and it was great!" [3:01-4:45]

During an interview with the Daily Star, WWE Superstar Tiffany Stratton expressed her desire to team up with Trish Stratus if the reigning Ms. Money in the Bank got an opportunity to choose anyone from the past as her partner.
"Maybe, Trish Stratus," she said.
It remains to be seen if Trish Stratus has any plans to return to the Stamford-based promotion in the future.
