Sportskeeda Senior Editor Bill Apter recently spoke about Cody Rhodes appearing on SmackDown this week. The American Nightmare is the current Undisputed WWE Champion.
Cody walked out to SmackDown this week after Paul Heyman called him out. The Wiseman informed him that Roman Reigns was planning to regain the Undisputed title and would enter the Royal Rumble match. Before Rhodes could respond, Kevin Owens interrupted, and the two stars got into a huge brawl.
This week on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Apter mentioned it was getting predictable that Owens would always interrupt any time Cody had something to say. The veteran journalist hoped that the two stars would not get into any more physical altercations before the Rumble, thus building up anticipation when the two meet at the huge matchup.
"Kevin Owens disrupting everything that Cody Rhodes is involved with is getting a little out of hand now. Anytime Cody comes in, you know Kevin Owens is gonna be there. I kinda didn't want to see him at that particular point. I would have liked them to have just let it alone with the challenge, accept it then go into the match, whatever it is." [8:04 onwards]
During the main event, Owens once again attacked Cody Rhodes. The two stars went through a table, and this spot put the champ out of the match. His tag team partner, Jimmy Uso, was left at the mercy of Tama Tonga & Jacob Fatu and ended up losing the encounter.
