WWE will head to the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, tonight for a double taping of SmackDown. The company will tape next Friday's show after tonight's episode because of Thanksgiving next week.
This means that the blue brand will wrap up its build to Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 tonight. So, a lot of massive developments could take place on the show and the taping afterward.
WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis may also have some big announcements in store ahead of the major premium live event next weekend.
So without further ado, let's take a look at four things he could announce tonight.
Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes after WWE Bad Blood for teaming up with Roman Reigns. Randy Orton got involved in the rivalry between his friends and eventually had a fallout with The Prizefighter.
Two weeks ago, KO hit The Viper with a piledriver, which led to him being hospitalized. Cody Rhodes wanted to confront Owens for his actions last week, but he was not in the building.
The two men will come face-to-face tonight. A heated encounter is expected, which may turn into a brawl as The American Nightmare wants to get his hands on the former Universal Champion.
Nick Aldis may have to suspend both men indefinitely if things get out of hand. They are expected to face off at Survivor Series, but such a potential brawl may lead to their match being postponed until Saturday Night's Main Event next month.
After winning the WWE Tag Team Championship from The Bloodline, The Motor City Machine Guns defended it for the first time on SmackDown last week. Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley retained the title after Tommaso Ciampa showed up to attack The Street Profits.
It is likely that the angle was booked to set up a Triple Threat match between the three teams.
The Street Profits may try to get revenge on Ciampa tonight, which may lead to Johnny Gargano turning heel to save his partner.
Nick Aldis could then announce a Triple Threat match for the belts on the SmackDown before Survivor Series: WarGames or at the premium live event.
WWE has mixed a lot of storylines across RAW and SmackDown this year to build up the Women's WarGames match.
This led to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez invading SmackDown last week to attack Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair backstage during the WWE Women's Championship match between Nia Jax and Naomi. It was a major distraction for The Glow, as she will team up with the Women's Tag Team Champions at Survivor Series: WarGames.
To prevent that from happening again, Nick Aldis could ban Morgan and Rodriguez from showing up on the blue brand tonight.
The Bloodline civil war will probably headline Survivor Series: WarGames this year. A WarGames advantage match could be announced soon by Nick Aldis.
The advantage decider for the Women's WarGames is set for the upcoming episode of RAW, so next week's SmackDown will likely feature the men's version of the bout.
Jey Uso vs. Jacob Fatu to decide which team gains the advantage would be a massive main event for next week as it would be their first encounter in the ring.
